The Blue Star is the moving new drama inspired by the life of Spanish musician and poet Mauricio Aznar, leader of the bands Golden Zippers, Más Birras and Almagato. While on a self-discovery trip through the Argentinean interior, he finds a new passion for life and folk music.
In the rocking 1990s, Mauricio (Pepe Lorente) travels to Latin America in a desperate attempt to rekindle the flame of his passion for music. On his journey he meets the welcoming Don Carlos, a veteran musician going through hard times despite being the author of some of the most famous songs in his country's folklore, who barely manages to pay his bills. Their unexpected encounter leads to an odd musical alliance that, although it has all the makings of failure, will mark the beginning of an unforgettable Quixote-like adventure.
The feature directorial debut of Javier Macipe, The Blue Star is a beautifully universal film about the search for one's vocation and a delectable musical journey.
