In the San Francisco Bay Area, Corvette (Keke Palmer) and her friends (known collectively as the "Velvet Gang") routinely shoplift from the Metro Designers fashion chain run by designer Christie Smith (Demi Moore). They sell the clothes they steal at a discount to make ends meet. After Christie insults them in the media,The Velvet Gang get jobs at a Metro Designers store, planning to steal its whole inventory in revenge. Things get very real (and very very surreal) when bigger forces come into play as the gang gets embroiled with the Chinese sweatshop workers who make Christie’s wealth possible. Both deeply thoughtful and almost impossibly silly, bursting with great performances and a wild colour palette, I Love Boosters makes critiquing capitalism fun.
